Through out history, the burning of herbs was used in sacred ceremonies and rituals dating back to Ancient Egypt. It was burned to worship the gods, in burial rites, to drive away demons and protect sacred areas from negative influence.
Patchouli is harvested from a perennial herb in the mint family. It is used for spiritual growth, wealth and love. Listing is for one 1/2 oz package of dried patchouli herb and may contain some sticks and stems.
Charcoal burning instructions:
Place a charcoal tablet in a censor or fire proof container. Light the edge of the tablet with a match. Add dried herb when the charcoal begins to glow.
Be sure burner is placed and remains a heat proof surface when in use. Do not leave burning herbs unattended. If using indoors make sure area is well ventilated.
